The Pelzer Gym serves as one of the town’s central gathering places and a hub for community activity. This historic space hosts Town of Pelzer meetings and public events, providing residents with a place to stay informed and engaged in local government.
The gym also features an indoor basketball court, offering a space for recreation, pickup games, and community activities throughout the year.
In addition to sports and meetings, the facility is available for exercise and wellness classes, creating opportunities for residents of all ages to stay active and connect with others in the community.
The Pelzer Gym is also available to rent for community programs, fitness classes, and special events, making it a versatile space that supports both recreation and civic engagement in the Town of Pelzer.




Monkey Park is one of the Town’s most beloved gathering places and serves as a hub for community recreation and celebrations in the Town of Pelzer. The park provides open green space where families can relax, children can play, and neighbors can gather for community events throughout the year.
Each summer, Monkey Park becomes the center of one of Pelzer’s most anticipated traditions—our community Fourth of July celebration, bringing residents together for a day of fellowship, family activities, and patriotic spirit.
Located within the park is the Historic Community Building, a cherished structure that once served as a local skating rink for generations of Pelzer residents. Today, the building is being revitalized and will host community events, gatherings, and special programs, continuing its long tradition as a place where the community comes together.

The Bill Hopkins Ball Fields are an important recreational space in the Town of Pelzer, providing a place for residents of all ages to enjoy sports and outdoor activity.
The complex includes areas for baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball, making it a versatile location for youth sports, practices, and community recreation. The fields are also home to the Pelzer United Soccer Club, where young athletes gather for practices, games, and community tournaments throughout the year.
The fields are named in honor of Bill Hopkins, a beloved figure in the Pelzer community who served as the town’s recreation director for 23 years. Known as an approachable mentor and coach, he dedicated his time to teaching sports fundamentals and encouraging generations of local youth. His commitment to the community left a lasting impact, and the naming of the ball fields recognizes his many years of service to the Town of Pelzer.
Today, the Bill Hopkins Ball Fields continue his legacy by providing a place where young athletes can learn, play, and grow through sports while bringing families and neighbors together to support local recreation.
